Big ol' chicken fry

Recommended Posts

Son's 12th birthday today and tomorrow the inlaws invade for a shindig. I am frying chicken strips and legs, I plan on triple dipping the legs and strips, but can I do it in the mornng and then put then in the fridge until I fry them about 5? Or am I better off letting the powder fly at 4 when everyone shows up and then frying?

doing before will be fine and you also won't have to do it when guests are there. I do that all the time, just don't start drinking beers when you're prepping 8 hours before. That's the only trouble that can happen!

Thanks leech, I will make the mess about noon then.......with probably 90 minutes to fry, 25 legs and 60 chicken strips, I will save the drinking until there is a gallon of peanut oil n the cast iron chicken fryer, what could possibly go wring with that?

I actually have several bags of chicken in the freezer right now that I cut up and breaded a month or two ago. Its nice doing them ahead of time as it can make a rather large mess. This way I just grab what I need, let them thaw out on a plate and fry/bake them whenever I want.

To ensure they don't freeze together I wrapped them in wax paper before freezing.
