Electric Fillet Knife

Well, my old electric fillet knife finally broke down last weekend and needs replacing. I'm leaning towards picking up a Rapala with power cord. I've heard nothing but problems with the rechargeable cordless ones.

Any input on the Rapala or your favorite electric fillet knife?

I think i have 3 corded Rapala brand fillet knives and about 8 sets of blades.

Might have paid a total of $30 ($5 for each knife and $2 for each set of blades) for all of that at the Berkely Outlet Store (Huge sale this weekend BTW). I'm going on 3 years with my 1st and haven't even taken the plastic off of the other two yet. I just figured at such a great deal i might as well stock up. So, i would highly suggest buying the corded versions.

If your down in spirit lake anytime soon, i would wait to hit that store. They charge too much for these knives at box stores!

I have a Mr. Twister Salt Water electric (blue & white) that I use. It is more powerful than the green and yellow version. It does not get hot like the old Mr. Twister (Green & Yellow). I use it for pretty much everything.

I just use a regular black and Decker electric knife...$12 bucks I believe it was...works like a charm...I wish they made a cordless one

I have the rapala lithium cordless and it works great. On a recent fishing trip everyone else forgot their fillet knives so I had to clean all of them and never ran out of juice or slowed down after 15 walleyes, a hand full of norhterns and a dozen jumbo perch. I think the newer litium cordless knives are better than their older version cordless.

My rapala battery knife is 3 years old and it is used on a weekly basis during the summer on laker and salmon and all winter on walleye and I have never had a issue with it yet. I didnt know they had issues with them.

I have the same one now after my American Angler Ultra finally died. It's ok but so much slower than the American Angler knives.

Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering how the Lithium ones did. I had problems with the NiMH ones.
