Tom7227
I just got an email from Steve at the Hugo Feed Mill. He has always offered great advice on lawn care. Today he suggested that you hold off on aerating the lawn until after you have mowed it twice. It is too wet to do now and you will likely do more harm than good. Raking and such is also off the table for a while. It is obviously too cold to put down a pre-emergent weed killer for crab grass. If you do it now it will likely lose some of it's power before the seeds start to germinate.Relax, wax the car in the garage or something. Lay off the outside stuff for a little longer. harvey lee
Guess I missed out.I raked a few days ago but used a plastic long tined rake and not the steel rake that really digs in. Looks good. My lawn is well drained and was pretty firm. But, I do have some neighbors who's lawn are way to wet to rake now. Also put my fertilizer on and I spray a bit later as I have so few weeds. All I do is use a hand sprayer and spot spray what I see.
