Dog Boarding

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for recommendations for a good place to board my dog for a couple days. My wife and I have a baby due in the next week or so and we are looking to line up a place to board the dog while we are in the hospital.

I live in St. Paul so I'm looking for a place not too far away, probably within a 15-20 minute drive.

My dog is a 4 year old HIGH ENERGY vizsla. I want to find a place where he gets a lot of exercise and not just brought out a couple times a day for a bathroom break. If he doesn't get to run everyday I'll get him back strung out like a 3 year old with a mountain dew addiction.

If anyone has a good recommendation I would appreciate it.

Little bit further than you requested but check out Dog Pad by Jordan. They run pointers in addition to their boarding operation so understand your vizslas enegy needs.

Not sure if it's within range, but there's always Vermilion Kennels south of Lakeville on Dodd Road. Don't know anything about the place or the owners. I just drive by it everday to/from work.

Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake also has a sign out for dog boarding $19.95/night.

Horse and hunt the dogs will be in kennels most of the day.

Dog Pad is only a few miles farther down the road and the dogs run all day outside.

**Customer and I hunt the tournaments with them.**

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up finding a place in Eagan that has the dogs running all day. It actually sounds like one of those fuffy pet resort type places which I swore I'd never take my dog to but they are running the dogs virtually all day so I broke down and will try them out. The dog went down today for a free day trial to see how it goes so we'll see. Hoping he comes home wiped out.
