Crappy hockey night on Thursday. I was pumped up for both the SCSU and Wild games. Badly dissappointed in both.

I will say that Quinnipiac played outstanding. They owned the area in front and behind the net. Also agree that there was some puck luck to Saint Cloud not converting and Quinnipiac getting the first two.

Boring Final on Saturday for sure. Guess I'll root for the Hartzell kid from Mn.

Yeah crappy night is right! I was highly disappointed in Saint Cloud and the Wild. Quinny pretty much dominated that game, those two early goals were pretty much backbreakers. They punched us in the mouth and we did not retaliate. Good season for the Huskies, I would have loved to end on a better note but that's how it goes sometimes. I don't know who to root for in the final now, I'd be awesome to see Hartzell win one, but Yale's run has been pretty fun to watch as well! I wonder if last nights domination pretty much locked up the Hobey for Hartzell - we will find out tonight!

Quite possibly, but the Hobey committee is sometimes unkind to goaltenders. The last goalie to win it was Ryan Miller in 2001 with a ridiculous season (1.32 GAA, .950 save %!). I thought it was outright robbery when Matt Carle won in '06. Yeah 11-42-53 is very impressive for a Dman, but look at Brian Elliott's season (Blues goalie now). That year he had a 1.55 GAA and .938 save %. And put Bucky on his back for a championship.

Hartzell has 1.53 GAA and a .938% so it certainly matches up. But he plays in the ECAC which has to play into consideration.

ESPN got their wish, all Connecticut final. I don't think I will be able to watch. The eastern Bias is horrible when there are western teams in it. We won't hear the end of this for years to come.

They did seem a littleee biased during last nights game. And at one point I'm almost positive they referred to St. Cloud as a "west coast team". ha

As you already know, I'm sick of the whining, NCAA conspiracy theorist, and all the eastern bias boloney non-sense when it comes to freakin college Hockey for petes sake.

1. ESPN is not happy with the championship game participants it will hurt their bottom line and thats ratings and commercial moneys.

2. I guess, just maybe, the Pairwise and every other Hockey ratings system in place just may have known a little bit about it, other then, our continued over-rated and dismally under preforming WCHA teams. The proof is on the ice. Get the late 1990's out of your mind set for starters.

3. there is no CRYING IN HOCKEY!

4. ....Never mind....I give up.

Congrats to the Huskies on a fantastic year!!!!! smile

So Yale, can't say I saw that coming but they certainly earned it and then some. Beat the top 3 PWR/#1 seeds in the country and UND. Kind of crazy if you think about it, especially when they needed some help to even make the tourney.
