2thepointsetters
I have 3 jacks in my house. 1 in front of the door and 2 rear of the door. Only the top one to the rear of the door seems to work with satellite dish. I didn't want the antenna on front and I figured that's what the other 2 might be for. 2thepointsetters
Mine might be different also because I have self tracking satellite.my house was built the last week of January so they might be similar.
thefarmer
I only have one jack in mine, above the stove. If you have a winegaurd crankup make absolutely sure you know where north is. Get away from the house aways and use a compass. Set azimuth, then if still no luck make small moves with the dish waiting a bit between changes. I have used mine a few times and everytime i get faster at setup. Use the chart in the book and you should find it.
bassNspear
Does it matter what co ex I use Maybe I have to call Milica today
bassNspear
What's azimuth? I have the white guard dish crank up
Hawg
Did you use the signal meter? It doesn't sound like the dish is set right. I have a feeling you just set the box so it would give you the proper menu/guide and time zone. How did you set the dish if you're not getting anything to the tv? Have you done this before, it sounds like this might be new to you?
bassNspear
It is new. Tried it for first time. I need all the help I can get.
stealth3350
first point your satalite south.. get the area code right.. crank it up to 16.5 turns.. get to the menu were it sais signal strength youll here a beeping noise.. now turn your dish slowly around the direction of south .. if the beep picks up turn it till u get the most signal... then lock it, then raise it or lower it to fully tune in to get the best reception.. when u crank it up its allways between 16.5 to 17.5 cranks
bassNspear
I'm guessing the dish box has to be hooked into the main co ex which is above the stove. I'm gonna call today
Hawg
If you do a search on the LEFT of the screen you'll get 1000 responses that might help. Best option is to get a friend that can set the up and dowm angle on the dish and then the sideways angle will always change by where you set the house but thats extreemely easy once someone shows you. I've never dealt with a crank up dish so I don't know if they stay set up and dpwn(asmuith?)or not. This is a common question so there's lots of info in the searches. Bottom line, I think most people get a friend to show them the first time, then you'll be an expert next time for someone else.
Hawg
Stealth- with a crank up then you always need to reset both angles? I didn't know about the # of cranks because I've never had one but if that works it sound pretty easy.
stealth3350
theres a chart some were for the number of cranks for the degrees.. its allways 16.5 to 17.5 start low turn left or right till get some signal then finish going up .. yes everytime you move it u have to reset the angles .. usually just left or right if ur moving short distance... i never even put in the area code as it allways is 16. to 17.5 cranks

Hawg
It'll work on a lot less than 90% signal. Once you get it to move on the signal meter you know its close, then tweak the other angle. Thanks Stealth, if it's that easy I'm going to consider a crank up on my new house. LakeDocktor
If you have multiple coax jacks in the house, I'm suspecting there is a a splitter somewhere in the line. Your satellite system will not work if you are using a coax that has been split.I think we are ignoring obvious factors that are playing a key role in getting everything set up. What model receiver are you using? What type of dish do you have at home? I'm suspecting that if you have a relatively new DirecTv system, you have a SWM system and an HD receiver. If this is the case, you need a B Band converter to get it to work in your fish house. Without the B Band converter (SWM system has them built-in) you will get extremely frustrated trying to get something to work that simply will not given the compatibility of the components involved. Bryce
Need this option. Crank up to 37*, point to about 185* and then a few tweaks to get 92% signal. About 2 minutes. Biggest issues I have are quick couplers on co-ax cables coming loose during transit and knowing which way is south.

BigGuy
The two coax connecters on one cover are for camera connections probably near center holes. The single coax cover is the sat. Good-Luck
