white80a
Some cell phone chargers. What I found its not really the cable but your USB port on your computer that's is 2.0.

GSP4ME
my phone chargers must be different then as the cables from three of our charges do not fit in the port on the LX6.
DTro
I think 2.0 is the technology in your PC not the cable. When it comes to USB you have 3 sizes.Standard USBMini USBMicro USBMarcum uses a Mini USB, and most newer phones use Micro USB so they won't physically fit in the port. I think you are confusing the size adapter with USB software revision which is now up to 3.0 I believe. You will need a mini USB cable which is about $2 at Walmart. tview
System requirements – PC only computer with 2.0 USB port and a 2.0 USB cable. Do not attempt upgrade without 2.0 port or cable.Save the LX6main.bin file from the MarCum HSOforum to your desktop (do not change the file name or extension). GSP4ME
Yes, I understand that but if youread farther yousee where the computer must also recognise the lx. What I'm running into is that it's not recognising it. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has done this with aMac
Esox_Magnum
Not compatible with Mac as far as I know, pc only
DTro
If you can tell me the difference between a 1.1 and 2.0 cable by looking at it I would like to know. They DO certify 2.0 cables as 2.0 compliant, but that is because it requires faster data transfer and might have better shielding internally. Other than that, they are physically identical.I truly think any USB cable you have laying around that is the correct dimensions (Mini) and you have a 2.0 port on your PC, it will work fine. fisherman-andy
All USB cables are the same and will work as long as their USB rated compliant. Some may fool you with more expensive coating and materials but its been proven that as long as the cable is compliant it works just as well. The only difference here is the USB connector type. You must choose the correct connector USB type for your device. Also chargers and USB ports on pc's different in speed and power, its not the cable its the port.Current PC's and MAC's are USB 2.0 compliant, most new electronics are USB 3.0 now. Bulldoggr
2.0 cable I used to do mine was the cable that came with my Garmin GPS. The one that allows me to upgrade the Garmin from my PC. I have a Garmin Nuvi.

What I'm running into is that it's not recognising it. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has done this with aMac No, a MAC is not a PC (Even though PC is short for Personal Computer). You will never be able to update your Marcum using a standard MAC unless Marcum decides to make their units (especially the filesystem onto which you copy the bin file) MAC compatible. Sure, there are some hacks out there that may allow you to boot your MAC to another OS (Linux), but it's just easier to find a buddy with a PC (Running some sort of Windows version) and do the upgrade using their system.
