Bulldoggr
I took this quote off the MN DNR Site. "■After removal dates, shelters may remain on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise only when occupied or attended."so does that mean an hour before sunrise I need to move my house even though I plan on staying in it for the day? Dylan33
I'm not sure why you'd have to move your house? If it is occupied,it is okay. When you leave for the day, it has to go with you...it can't be there overnight un-attended.
TruthWalleyes
In your house, it's like a portable.
aanderud
Since this couldn't possibly be written any clearer, I can't tell if you're joking or not so I'll answer assuming you are not. It doesn't say anything about removing a house that you plan to stay in during the day. It simply says that you cannot leave it out there between midnight and 1 hour before sunrise unless it is occupied. It can be on the ice during the day, whether occupied or not. (up to the next midnight, at which time it must be occupied or moved).
Lucky Dogg
I keep mine out after the season for as long as the ice is still safe and I can get off the access, daytime hours your house can be left unattended but you have to spend the nite. In all the years I've done this the DNR has yet to even stop by! Enjoy your alone time on the ice.
IcePro
As long as you are in(occupied)your house you can have it on the ice 24/7.Just don't go into town after sundown for "Happy Hour".
silverbulletguy
Is it true that if unattended for a period of time the DNR can tag them as abandoned and its basically a free for all and anyone can take it? I've heard that but never really knew if it was true.
Bulldoggr
yeah, it was kinda a tongue and cheek question. I know if you are occupying it then you are good to go. I actually didn't think the way they worded it though was clear.Besides all the Metro TV channels are telling the story that the fish houses have to be off, yet they never mention the part if you occupy it you can still be out on the lake in them. I for one and hoping we have a couple more weekends of being able to drive out with the ice castle. For me this has been a great year for getting out on the ice. we have been out every weekend scince Christmas. I am planning a trip up to LOTW on the weekend of the 22nd.
