Cardinals

Seems for the past few years, I could not get any cardinals to my feeders.

2 years ago I planted a row of red dogwoods against the back line of our property.

Seems the last few weeks the cardinals finally found my feeders.

This am, I had 5 pairs at one time by the feeders and on the ground picking up seed.

Won't be long now and all the Orioles and finches will be back.

I think some days I can set in my recliner and have my morning coffe and just watch all the birds at the feeders out the patio doors.

Lucky Dog!!!!

We have had a mating pair for 2 years until some Hawk took out the male a few weeks ago. I am sure she will find a new mate but I hope she sticks around.

Been trying for a few years to get some cardinals and now, for some reason, I have a mother load of them.

Not complaining as I enjoy wacthing them come and feed as often as they do. Typically they are feeding every morning about 10 or so.

cool! put lotsa oil sunflowers out and maybe they will stick around. if you have a house type feeder with a nice ledge they like that. good luck!

They like platform type feeders or even the ground if the snow is shoveled away or stomped down. I see them at twilight especially.

Been using oil sunflowers. I have house-barn type feeder they can fly into and stand and eat. Also put a bunch on thre ground in a cleared out area.

Some to the barn and some sit on the ground.

They will sit in the red dogwoods and then fly to the feeder and feed for a little bit, then fly back to the dogwoods. They do this for about a half hour and then go there way.

once in a great while one will try and stand on a peg of the other feeders. kinda funny.
