Sprint Unlimited-Bud Shoot-Out

Yeah, I'm not so sure how this new car will work on the restrictor plate tracks. Not enough "suck up" to get a pass and the bumpers don't line up, but at least they're not bump drafting all the way around the track like the COT car which everybody complained about. Be careful what you wish for, or you might just get it...and it looks like we got it.

They've had a limited amount of drafting time with these new cars so I'm not going to draw any conclusions on what we saw tonight. It seems like they drove pretty conservative tonight and were doing a lot of on track testing more than anything. Once we get a bunch of the hacks on the track for the 500 I'm sure there will be a lot more wrecks.

I was disappointed, I was hoping for a better race out of this car. With a higher car count I'm thinking somebody will run out of talent early in the 500 and wreck half the field. Still better than what we have seen the last few years.

MY guess, Danica is out before mid race.

I am sure Tony will do whatever and crash whomever to win.

Hopefully with this new car, they will be more stable on the majority of the tracks for better racing.

Could be better at Daytona also if they did not always mess with the car. I know one said the car has a ton of downforce but NASCAR made changes to the chassis for this race.

I am with you guys, it doesn't look like this car is right yet for the plate tracks. Suck up was not good at all and hurt the racing. Tony said before the race it was almost like the air is acting like a spring between two cars, sometimes it would push the lead car further ahead and sometimes it pushed the second car back, either way not good for passing. I have a feeling there the finish of the 500 will be similar to the finish of the Unlimited with the lead car holding off the field. Wrecks will definatly be the talk of the race.

There were some good runs though. I remember seeing Kenseth shooting into the lead from the inside with moderate help from behind. To me, it seemed like you still needed to run in the pack but weren't necessarily needing a partner to run up at the top - you could run it along for a while.

I love Daytona and Talladega, but if the quality of racing at these two tracks is a little "off", and the quality of racing at the rest of the tracks is much better now than it was with the COT, I for one will be thrilled.

First super speedway race for the new car...they will get it tweaked. Hopefully.

This new car I believe will be better than the COT from what I have heard the drivers say.

NASCAR may have just took a bit much of the needed downforce away.

Guess we will have to wait until the 500 is over to see what the drivers believe about this car and a superspeedway. I am afraid we will still see the big one.
