Looking for a good place to take the family (3 kids) for a week this summer. I'd like to be somewhere that has a nice beach for the kids and some fishing for me and the kids. Does anyone have a place they like? TIA

Shady Rest in Villard on Lake Amelia has what you are looking for. They have a nice beach area that is not that deep.Fishing is not too bad for panfish, walleye, pike, etc. If you have a boat it is even better. They have cabins you can rent for a week but they do fill up fast as they have a lot of repeat customers so they fill up fast. Hope this helps out.

Wilderness Bay Resort. Close to Itaska State Park. Nice beach area and some great cabins for a good price. Little Mantrap Lake is a great bass/panfish lake. Maybe other fish too, but those are all we fished for.

I can't think of anywhere better than Rainy Lake to spend time with my family. Camp Idlewood has a nice beach and it is a great place to take the family. Great fishing nearby or take a boat ride and see Kettle Falls or Mermaid Rock.

Any particular type of fish that you prefer? Running water and electric necessary? The state parks have some camper cabins that are pretty reasonable in some nice locations.
