  1. When we have been there it is late July, early August and we have not encountered a lot of boat traffic. We are usually the only ones around, once you get outside of Bear Pass and further up the bays.
  2. I have not been to this resort, but have fished in Red Gut and Bear Pass area. Plenty of good water to fish - had good luck the last few years when we ventured up that way. We did stop at one place for gas that was south east of the rail road bridge, has a big breakwater. Service was ok - but all the building we went in were run down. Not sure if that was Fisheries or not.
  3. Fished Little Yellow Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Lots of little Pike but we did manage a couple 27" inch Pike both days and a few Walleye, 18 - 22 inches. Mostly trolled outside edges of the weeds, staying in 10 feet of water. Did some casting with crank baits staying in 10 feet and casting into the thick week edge. Nice overcast days with a light breeze made it enjoyable to be out.
  4. When this happened to me; I took off the screen on the lower unit - couple screws hold then in. Took off the pee hole piece on the top of the motor. Hooked up a hose to the top of the motor and back flushed the system. Takes about 15 minutes or so. Good luck.
  5. I am also a big fan of Rainy Lake. we catch big Pike trolling and plenty of Walleye. I absolutely love Camp Idlewood near Ranier, but not sure if they do 3 day rentals. There are plenty of places like Sha Sha and Thunderbird that do shorter rentals. The other option to get away from everyone is renting a houseboat.
  6. I buy the K&N Filters because I can clean and re-use them. I don't know that I have ever seen a mpg increase from just the filter. It is the last filter you will ever need to buy for the car.
  7. Is there much difference in ride for a F-150 between a 'LT' and a 'P' tire. I know LT is meant for 3/4 and 1 ton, but curious how ride would be on the smaller truck. I have found some LT tires at a good price but wouldn't want to ruin ride. Thank you in advance for any help
  8. My only thought is - what credit card did you use? Some credit cards automatically include accident insurance and extended warranties. Good luck.
  9. If someone is in the stand I will not hunt near it. If no one is there when I get there I will hunt it. I do not use the stand, never know how well it was constructed. Never had to 'duke' it out when someone came in after I was set up.
  10. Three of us; me, my son and his friend hunted 157 Sunday only. Sat all day and finally had two doe come through, my son's buddy dropped one of the does. Very few shots heard around the area.
  11. My son and I have been looking at the area on google earth and might try some different public land around there. Will keep an eye out for your truck. Good luck!
  12. What a great idea. Thanks- I will have to get this for Ace.
  13. Thanks for the replies guys. If I buy any I will let you know how they work out. Cheers!
  14. I saw them online and was curious if anyone here had used them. Not sure if they are available locally.
  15. Here is a picture of the "growler pouch". It is supposed to keep craft beer fresher because of no exposure to air, or sunlight. It is also re-usable and my main question was about cleaning them; I just mentioned the BWCA thing as sometimes it would be nice to have a sip or two while there.
