Nils Master short shaft auger

Does anyone know where I could purchased one? I have been trying to contact the company without success.

I love my Nils but don't see a need for the long shaft until the ice is really thick. After a full week of drilling holes, my arms are very getting tired!

I got one from Red Rock last year.Not cheap $185.00 and it had a power point which I don't care for but the 42" is alot easier for us shorter people.If they have it in stock Red Rock is real good with shipping. Got mine in three days.

Ps, I also have a long shaft 8" nils and am looking for a short shaft. If anyone has a short shaft they would like to trade for a long shaft let me know. Im only 5'7 and although it works fine on the power head, its a pain to hand auger. Im also in the southern half of Mn and have yet to see ice thick enough to need a long shaft.

I've been wondering if a person could put the blades of the nils on a strike master shaft. Cut the bottom of the shaft and put the cutting head on there. It would be a short shaft, the hole would be cleaner and cut good.

The secret is it's not the blade but the Tanaka Engine that works well with the nils auger.

It's a good auger as it sits, but a clean hole would make it great and hands down the best in my opinion. There is times the slush is good when fishing shallow I don't always mind. But other times a clean hole would be really nice.
