Mounting tv in wheelhouse

IceMan,

My Dream Shack came with one of those, extending, pivoting types of mounts and it is doing just fine. My TV is about an 18 to 20 incher. I simply push it all the way back against the wall for travel.

Only issue I had was the wall box that housed the antenna power supply all corroded from moisture and needed to be replaced.

I'll likely just take my tv off the wall and put it in the box for travel. Only takes one screw to remove the tv from the mount.

I'd rather take the extra five minutes than getting to the lake and seeing the TV ripped off the wall from travel.

Did it come with the shelf coming off the wall? If so I made mine so that I could slide mine out and pivot it and when traveling I can slide the base mount under it and it sets right on that for weight. I can take some pics and try to update them on Sunday for you. I think it worked great when going to LOW last year.

Yesterday picked up a 32in for the Dream Shak but for now will just put it on the counter. A little neverous with a wall mount in a fish house banging around so much.

If I do the wall mount will get a heavy duty one like the one above the fireplace in the master. It moves in all directions.

There are a lot of mounts out there for TV's. Any of them will work depending on your configuration.

One thing you want to keep in mind though. The TV mount is bolted, screwed or somehow fixed to studs in the house. It's not going anywhere. Problem I have with leaving a TV mounted to the wall while traveling is that you're relying on some tiny screws, and pretty weak mounts on the TV its self. Trust me, I've mounted my fair share of TV's at work. They're not built for the type of conditions they'll see bouncing across the lake or road. I'm sure people do it, and I'm sure people have had success. Personally, I don't trust it.

Now, if you were to some how support the bottom of the TV with a sturdy soft mount to take the pressure off of the screws, I'm sure it would be fine.

Just throwing in my $0.02
