Any trendy, city-dweller that wears the "in" fashions..... Someone who feels they are "hip" with the times...... One who spends a great deal of time, money and effort to look "the part". Has a hairstyle that requires maintenance and main contain hairspray and/or gel.....

You know... a hipster! Not quite a hippy, yet not quite a yuppie.

OKAY!! I get it! Thanks you guys. And here is an interesting historic note, just so you'll know.

In the 1930's and 40's the term was the same, hipster, and it deonoted and described guys who were cool, who were hip, who with "with it" and who dressed in zoot suits, big fedoras and baggy pants.
