JoeKer
Anyone got one of these or use one? Any first-hand knowledge, preferably NOT HEAR-SAY? Any USEFULL SOLID info.?
BartmanMN
Pretty sure that is a new Power auger for HT this year, so reviews would be tough. First thing I would want to know is the manufacturer on the motor. That will help with parts and service long term. HT does have a hand auger that has been out for awhile. Agronomist_at_IA
It's basicly an Eskimo 33cc sting ray with a little bit lighter auger bit. It's not a suprise that HT would be selling these at this price. I had a friend that picked up and Eskimo 33cc from Scheels at the end of last winter for under $200 new. For $200 I don't think you can go wrong. If its HT you can probably get blades at walmart if it uses the same has the hand augers.
bigblue
I may be wrong but it is a Eskimo Stringray with the Viper engine. going on 4 years now with the Eskimo it's been great light easy start cuts well. Parts are available but I haven't needed any .
JoeKer
Well either way can't wait to get 'er and put 'er to use and find out. And yes I know it ain't nothing fancy or top-o-the line and most will probably tell me it's junk but.. It's my first gas auger, finally! Hope all goes well, I think it will though. Thanks. Pooh
Let us know how it is. All they do is cut ice, don't need bells and whistles to do that
hnd
as long as your arm isn't sore by the end of the day who cares what they say. if you are fishing 60-70 days a year popping 50-100 holes a day its probably not the best choice, but for the weekend warrior i doubt you can go wrong. Hey it looks like a nice auger to me. I can't really see where there would be anything wrong with it. It isn't that fastest auger on the block, but like with my buddies stingray 33cc when i drill a hole it doesn't throw water and ice all over my feet like my jiffy model 30 does. You'll like it and the weight is nice and light.
ClownColor
I'd take that auger over my more expensive auger with PLASTIC handles any day. Looks like a GREAT buy!
rcguy
I've got one - picked it up yesterday at Cabela's for just over $200. Took it out this morning and cut about 20 holes. Worked just fine - plenty of power. I'm a weekender and it seems like it is going to be a good auger for my use.
JoeKer
Sweet, sounds great! Can't wait to try 'er out! I think it should be perfect for anyone who ain't a "pro 1000+ holes every trip guy".
