deerminator
Anyone have any experience with these? I just bought a 2 MP IR one from the big M store for $39. Set it up in our woods this weekend and tested it out. Seems to be working fine and was extremely easy to set-up. I’m thinking about heading back and buying a few more of these before the sale ends on Sunday of this week. Just wondering, in the meantime, if anyone’s tried them out or has any thoughts on reliability. I know you get what you pay for but it seems to be a basic, no frills camera that could be an affordable way to up my scouting abilities. Freewheeler
What kind of trail cam did you buy for that price? What store did you get it from. Some seem to be real China junk others seem to do the job quite well. I leave my cameras up y ear round and they have helped in many ways. (best is they put a picture to the tracks)
CologneSS
I've got a couple of them and have had them up since July. Couldn't complain one bit with the product....in fact, would be very interested in knowing where you got them at, been looking all over to try and score a couple more but have been unsuccessful. deerminator
I got it at the Big M or as in save big money at....Thanks for the input. They've got a one year warranty and they look a lot like the Wildgame Innovations cameras but not sure if there is any connection. Was thinking about getting one of the 2mp of those too for $59 at another store as I have a gift certificate to burn at the other. I might get both. Like I said I'd like to step up my scouting without a terrible investment. I know you get what you pay for like I said but I had a cheap trail cam when they first became popular, one of the cheapest, and it lasted 5 years and worked great. So I think I'll give it a try. MN Mike
I've got a couple and the battery life is terrible, 2 weeks on 4 C's. Day time pics are alright, poorer when light transitions from day to night, night time pics are ok for the price of the cam.I'm not wasting my money on the Hunten cams no more, battery life alone makes that decision easy.Mike
McGurk
I found one at the Sportsmans guide warehouse that used a 6 volt rechargeable battery. I tried it out at my house and it barely lasted a week on a charge. I tried a few different things and nothing seemed to help. It said that it takes 7mp pix, but I compared them to some Moultrie M80 Black Flash (5mp) and the Hunten 7mp looked horrible. One thing I will say is that the trigger range and sensitivity seemed much better than the M80. It took 10 times the pictures from moving grasses and squirrels, let alone deer. Another thing was it had a much faster shutter speed at night than the M80, which means less blur. The Moultrie cams without "motion freeze" are horrible when it comes to night blur.I was pretty frustrated with the Hunten but at least it took pictures, which is more than I can say for the Moultrie. Hard to use up batteries if you never take pictures, I guess.
