Colemanvdh123
I've been doing some research on custom rods lately and it seems to me that there are three major brands that stick out. Thorne bros, DH, and Tuned upWhat are your opinions on who makes the best rod. Or if you know of any better rods out thereThanks

Fishin4fun_MN
Bricker's Custom Rods, Fort Wayne, IN. Check out his Facebook page as that is where he does business from.
Eric_Kruger
My vote goes for DH. or tuned up....both are local....Dont get me wrong, Brickers rods are beautiful but man all that extra fancyness sure is alot of epoxy and weight. im friends with the guy, talk to the guy weekly, and own a few of his products. If your looking for a one of a kind rod, he can make you a pretty sparkly rod but as far as pure fishing factor I give it to the locals listed above. NKLCOLT1911
or you could make your own we all have the ability to buy all the same stuff all the builders buy that was its truly custom and you can say you built it with your own hands. dfeste
I own Austin, Thorne Bros, and DH Custom rods. I fish almost exclusively with noodle rods. While they come at a better price point the Austin rods are not even close to as nice as the DH, or Thorne noodle rods.Of the remaining two I can say that I own more DH rods than Thorne but that is mostly because TB could not get fiberglass blanks last year so Dusty won my business over. They are both high quality rods and built by pros. The biggest differances I have noticed between the two are that the DH rods seem to get into the backbone of the rod a little quicker on hooksets and the Thorne rods have a nicer handle. My honost opinion is that you won't go wrong with either. As far as pricing goes there is really not much differance.I will say that the Bricker rods have caught my eye. I've seen a couple rods that I think would look really cool on the wall in my man cave.
Tod Todd
DLF in Rochester makes awesome rods with or with out reel seat from wood handles you pick the wood over 75 types.Dan has built me some lake trout rods that have a backbone of a 100 yr old oak to pull them up from 250'
fisherman-andy
Im not a sponsor, not a vendor, not a prostaff. Im a regular fishing Joe and own multiple DH and Thorne Bros custom rods, TUC soon too. You cant really go wrong with a DH, TB, or even a TUC rod at this point. DH have quick turn around times for a custom rod, 2 weeks or less. The even have custom colored dipped rods like blue camo/firetiger. TB has absolutely the largest selection of rod types. TUC has 5 year warranty on their rods. I think you'll be satisfied with quality with any of these mentioned rod makers. Here's the line up I currently like:For an UL rod I would go with a Quiverstick from TB For a Noodle rod I woud go with DH Al DenteFor a perch/walleye rod take your pick: DH, TB, TUC For a longer rod 30"+ handling bigger tougher fish I heard many good things on TUCAll these rod maker will be at the St. Paul River Centre ice show this week. I recommend you go around and take at look to have a feel for their rod selections.

bobbymalone
Who makes the best well rod? Well me of course I like Thorne's blanks though. I haven't tried a DH rod, but my custom rods built on thorne's blanks beat all the mass production rods out there.
