Same here in the Hayward, WI area. I was out by the Chippewa Flowage this afternoon and some of the bays are frozen but not enough to walk on yet.

A lot of smaller lakes 30 minutes north of the twin cities are froze over. I stepped foot on one that always seems to freeze first. Put about 20 pounds or so of pressure and it cracked real quick. No way ready for someone to walk on.

lakes r frozen here but only able to walk out about 2ft

i was gonna go out this mor to a lake up north but decied to wait till next weekend if the weather stays below frezzing we should be good to go next weekend

I walked out about 15yds on a lake yesterday in Cloquet...if i had my spud bar I would have checked farther out...I'm going to look at a small lake tomorrow with the spud..

Stepped out on a small 54 acre lake north of Park Rapids while out muzzleloader hunting, it held me for about five seconds and started cracking big time! was only out about a yard and had rubber boots on so wasn't worried if I went through.

A friend of mine lives on a small lake in white bear. About 3/4" there. Busted ice is slippery in 6" of water. Will try again tomorrow. Maybe make it to knee deep before I fall thru. Hot tub waiting

i checked a small lake in white bear yesterday between half inch and 3/4 i wanto check again tomorrow but ill prob wait till tuesday and see if i can walk on any

if there is 4 inches ill bring the portable and pack it full and not have a worry, im just bringing a spud bar a rod or two and the flasher im usually out every year once there is over two inches just goto keep it light and dont all crowd around the same hole lol

down by cleveland mn where i live west jefferson and henry have about 2-3 inches henry is full frozen across and west jeff broken but henry is safe to walk with a rod pail and bait but no portable or permanit houses yet!!!!!

i just got back from checking some north metro lakes lake george which was about 65% open the four other smaller lakes were all locked up and had anywhere between one and one and a half inches of ice ill being checking again tomorrow the wait is killing me

I've got the itch real bad but you won't find me going out until there's 3-4". Even then, there's a pucker factor looking at the edge of the hole IMO!

Found about 2.5inches on a small lake by Cloquet...thinking wednesday I may bring the some rods out and give er a shot

Okabena in the SW corner of the state, has skim on about 30 - 35% of it. dam geese!

Wow, I've seen smaller lakes than Orchard that still have open water on them.
