joblander
Hi All. 7 guys Heading up to LOW for the first time Jan 4-6 and staying with Arnesens Rock Pt. Any suggestions for lures, bait, etc would be much appreciated. Also, past success stories from previous years would be helpful as well. Thanks! dmpalm
You'll have a great time, Arnesen's sleepers are very nice. I take a trip to Arnesen's sleepers at least once a year and have had a great time every time. For bait/lures the standards all work well. Rattlin flyers, macho minnows, swedish pimples. Arnesen's provides all the bait so you don't need to worry about that. Tie up a pole for jigging and one for deadstick/bobber and you'll put fish in the bucket. Good luck!! basssmasher*
I'd get a few hot tamale's by jr's tackle too to bring with you, they outperformed everything esle i through down the hole last yr, including pimples, rattlin flyers and deadsticks. Korynta
You'll have a great time especially that early. They dont move the sleepers to far out, but you'll have steady fishing. They have ovens so we bring a fry pan for the fish and a bunch of pizzas to keep it easy. I've never been dissapointed. Good luck!
AaronM
They do a good job out there. Good people, and will work hard to put you on fish. Hope you have a great time!

Doing dishes up there is a pain, so we try to only have to do dishes when we fry fish. We bring a cookie sheet and line it with tinfoil for french fries, bagel bites, pizza rolls, other stuff thats easy to cook in the oven. Otherwise its pizza or simecks lasagna. Arnesen's doesn't provide pans or any utensils so make sure you plan to bring that stuff for cooking.

joblander
Thanks for the info. I heard Arnesens supplies fatheads, but some prefer the shiners. Any difference in anyones opinion?
joblander
TeeJay-Thanks. Any particular colors work the best?
joblander
Boar-Just got a couple of pink charmers....Thanks for the tip
iffwalleyes
Fat heads will be just fine. Shiners are over priced and don't produce that many more fish. Just what I have notices you
basssmasher*
Joblander> as for the tamales I prefer a glow red with a glitter gold back type or something similar. The real aggressive bigger fish will mostly be suspended on your flasher, so a chubby darter, or a zipper fished agressively above them usually triggers the bigger fish. if you are going to use a dedstick with a bobber, make sure its set within 8 inches of the bottom.
