Random guy Posted November 21, 2012 Share Posted November 21, 2012 Have your traps come in contact with your bait or lure? Sounds to me like they are either spooking from scent contamination, or digging them up thinking the bait under the trap and not past it. Also if coons find soft dirt in a food smell area they just can’t help but dig at it. Make sure you pack around them tightly; like a coyote trap.
