I think NASCAR should thank Jeff Gordon. Believe me, there are more people talking about NASCAR today than if it was a clean race and Brad ended up with a 20 point lead. The championship is pretty much set...unless a catastrophe happens in Homestead to the #2 team. People are going to or have already lost interest in next weeks race. 90% that Keselowski gets it done. I say let Gordon race, hype it up, and fans will tune in to see what happens with a Bowyer vs. Gordon brawl on the track. Will Gordon smack him again? Will Clint get revenge? This is what racing is all about. If someone takes a little from you, then you take it back.

Clint Bowyer's Michael Waltrip Racing crew went on the offensive Sunday afternoon after an on-track clash between their driver and Jeff Gordon. The crew members erupted into a brawl in the Phoenix International Raceway garage area with members of Gordon's team.

Monday afternoon, Michael Waltrip Racing issued a statement concerning the actions of Bowyer's team.

“The goal of Michael Waltrip Racing is to be a championship-level organization both on and off the track. The on-track incident which occurred during Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway was extremely disappointing and brought raw emotions of a long and hard championship battle to the surface. Though we generally cannot control certain actions on the track, the unfortunate reactions off the track Sunday did not live up to the professional standards in which Michael Waltrip Racing expects all of its representatives to live by. We commit to our sponsors, our manufacturer, our fans and NASCAR that we will do so in the future.”

I think I heard that if Johnson leads the most laps and wins the race the 2 has to finish 15th or better.

Correct. And funny things can happen...

We laughed when they showed Brad tweeting or whatever the heck he was doing. laugh What a circus it turned out to be.

Harvick's take: NASCAR was built on fights. I like fights. grin
