Battery life of an LX7

Curious what the battery life is like with marcum's LX7. Seriously looking at getting one, ben a vex guy for life but would like a new toy for this ice season.

The max power consumption on the lx7 is 800 milliamps and max consumption on the lx5 is 750 milliamps. So basically same as any other flasher.

The unit comes with a 9amp battery i took mine to lake of the woods last january I arrived on a friday morning and with a fresh battery fished it all day friday all day saturday and had to swap out the battery about half way thru sunday. I would say with a few breaks here and there the unit ran about 6-7 hours per day sooo about 15 hours on a charge. this was a brand new and fresh battery. put a 7 amp battery on it after that which was an older battery (2 yrs) and it made it thru sunday but not far into monday. Long story longer i was a little surprised (also pleased) at how long the battery lasted. i will be getting a second 9 amp battery. I think if you keep the display brightness down and not constantly playing with it that you will have no problems with battery life. It has so far been a lot better than any (mechanical flasher) i have used in the past.

If you need get 2-3 days plus in between charges with the LX-7 you can dial down the Back light, only use what you need. Most of the time I'm running about 60-70% durring the day and only bring it up to 80-90% at high noon. This will keep you running and gunning for a minimum of two days. You have total control over the features on that unit.

I'm waiting for the day I'll be able to play angry birds on it..hint hint:)

I've run my LX-7 for a full day several times, and always had battery power left. I've always recharged overnight so I don't know how long it would go for on the 2nd day. As Brad said, screen backlight makes a huge difference .... if you're worried about battery life, turn the screen brightness down, especially when you're inside your shelter.

Like the others I run full days on a regular basis. I simply charge at night if I have used it. I guess I just find that to be a standard. I don't want to ever find out if it can or can't make it a full 2nd day. Ha!

Wow thanks for the replies. Now howabout the interference with other flashers like 4 guys in a fish house and 3 guys having fl 20 and me with the lx7

Like stated above, I was also able to get about a day and a 3/4 on a full 9amp charge.

Like others have said turn down the backlight, I run mine way low like around 30% I think, but also run a black background ....
