Got one of the older black and white H2os and got a problem with it. When i have my lake map chip in it it doesnt show the contours. Tryed a couple different chips but didnt seem to work. Gonna try and find lowrance's number and give em a call, but wondering if anybody has had same problems?

First what chip is it? If it is a newer chip it might not read in the old H2Os. You'll need to get an older chip. Probably pre 2007. Make sure its a Lowrance chip, either Navionics or a Lowrance formatted Lakemaster chip. If its navionics you'll need to turn on the region of the lake you want to see. I believe regions are under Map Data.

Its been awhile since Ive worked with mine and dont have it handy but if you have an older lowrance chip and still dont see lake maps I believe if you go through the menus, try looking for Map Data, maybe something else (sorry), something tells me their could be a box that isnt checked on causing your contours to not draw.

i can't remember where on it but you should have a choice of maps for it to use weather its the basic one you get with it or the lakemaster or navionics. also how much detail you want shown. its there somewhere. alot of people on this HSOforum has one or had one at one time when they where real popular. was a nice unit.

Not too hard. Ask around many people dont have a use for their old chips I got an '06 or '07 Lakemaster chip for $40 off Cr@ig5list. My opinion Lakemaster is far superior to Navionics in the H20 units.

Try this. From the topo map page hit MENU, MAP CATEGORIES, and then check to make sure the "DEPTH" option is checked on. If it isnt that's probably your problem. If that doesnt solve anything its the chip.

navionics maps dont just run you have to turn them on. When you do you lose all the mapping stuff on H20 and you will get the contour maps. When you are in the advanced menu hit menu then go to map data. On the bottom of the screen will show you the different areas of the map south mn nw mn ne mn and such. If you pick south mn give it a minute then hit exit twice go to garrison and you should see contour maps

Northlander-

Your Navionics app doesn't have the St. Louis river and bay in 1ft contours does it...I have it for my Android and I swear its the only place that isn't and that's where I'll be doing 90% of my fishing of course lol....

Yeah the chip i have was bout a few yrs ago...says version 7 on it. I would get it on my phone buttttt i havnt upgraded to a smart phone. Keepin it old school! haha Thanks turn up, have it with me now and will try that.

I have a chip for my black and white h20 before they quit making them for the h20. I think I can just put the chip in my computer and copy and send the file. Then if you put it on a micro sd I think it will work for ya. Never tried it before but might be worth a shot. One thing I learned is that the chip needs to be for the black and white h20 I was first sent a chip for the h20c which wouldn't work in my black/white h20 so they had to swap it out haven't had a problem yet and been going on 6yrs now.
