2004 Ford F-150

Take the truck to a service garage and have it inspected, might cost you a few bucks but worth it. 70000 miles, I would have them replace the plugs and wires on it, those sparkplugs can be buggers to replace on that year truck if it has the 5.4 engine in it.

Like what was said with the spark plugs, but I would ask if they kept a maintenance journal, and make sure oil changes were done regularly. If the spark plugs have been replaced recently, I wouldnt worry about them. This doesnt have plug wires.

They were also common for having fuel pump driver modules get coroded from road salt, have someone disconnect the electrical connector and inspect it. Take a close look at axel seals, make sure they arent leaking.

I bought one new in 04 and have 92,xxx miles on it. I still enjoy it as much as the first day I bought it (actually more after I put my goodies on there over time). I have flushed tranny, axle seals, brakes (x2 front), replaced a small/cheap AFT line that was leaking a little up by the cooler (thanks again for advice on that Scott!), and yes need to put the dreaded plugs in still :-) Otherwise just regular maintenance and fluids. It's survived two deer collisions with minimal damage as well (brush guard). I've wanted to trade to a quad cab but can't give it up yet. I'd buy another 04 in a second.
