Surface Tension
The recommended ratio is 24 to 1 on that engine.
Guest
yes you can run 50 to 1 if you want to sieze the piston. I have run singel cyl rotaxs for 30 years and i allways ran a 20 to one fuel mixture
Dr. Bob
Thanks Guys - I have not run sleds for quite a few years and am going to fire up the old Skidoo this weekend (purchased last year for the chitlins ). I wasn't sure on the ratio so I thought I had better check here first. I'm glad I did! Two outta three are for the thicker mix so that's what I'm going to do. Thanks again, Dr. Bob ------------------Crank the Shank!
Guest
I've always dumped in a quart of oil to 5 gallons of gas, which I believe works out to be 20 to 1. I use premium gas, the plugs rarely foul.
hydro
Those old sleds were almost all 20:1 mix on the oil. Back in those days oil was not as good and engine tolerances not as consistant. It would probably run fine on a high quality semi synthetic oil at 50:1 but why take the chance?
