ruger m77 hawkeye in 308

I know this might be late, but you should read the report in the latest issue of Shooting Times where they compare the latest rifles in the popular .270. Winchester Model 70 Sporter comes out on top and both editors seem to love the rifle. It might help you be more informed. The Ruger 77 was among the rifles tested.

I've shot one in 30-06 a few times and wasn't impressed. It wasnt that there was anything wrong with it, it just didn't stand out in any way that a good rifle should. Kinda like a Chevy impala. Not a bad car since it'll get you home and back, but not a class leader

The M-77 ruger is a great rifle and I had one in 30-06.

Nothing bad to say of it I do hunt with a guy that has the M-77 in 308 and he loves it he reloads his own rounds and he down loads them for his daughter as she also shoots it.

Great gun and great round you will not be disappointed in it if you get it.

I have that gun in 30-06. I love it I have never shot fancier guns so my opinion is limited. I love mine for whitetails have a nikon on it and it shoots great for me. For the money I don't think you can go wrong. I only shoot it about 10 shots per year so it will last me for a very long time.
