Marcus Taplin
I went out with my buddy Jack today for my first time hunting muskies...and man was it a day to remember! We started out at 4:30am this morning and saw a ton of fish jumping and fining out, but we weren't able to entice any of them until....8:37am. We moved over to a couple underwater cabbage points and I picked out a new lure out of my buddies box...a Creamsicle Bulldog and he added a bulldozer to the front of it and bang! First cast! I hook into this beast a 51 incher! It was a ton of fun and now I am hooked. Sorry for the bad fish hold, but I am still learning. Can't wait for next time! smeese
One of you must be Jays brother.....saw this pic at work tonight......No cabbage in that lake though, its Milfoil and curly leaf mostly. Nice fish though. Hit me up if you and Jay want to nail some more.

leech~~
Nice! Your kind of like those kids that go Deer Hunting their first time and shoot a 10 point. "That was easy"
Shoot2Kill
Nicely done man and congrats! I did the same thing my first time out and have not been right in the head since!!!!It's weird you talk about the fish jumping and finning - we had one circle our boat yesterday like a shark on and off for about 15 minutes, she probably surfaced a dozen times within 20-30 yards of the boat and on all sides of us! A few hours later one jumped right in front of us like a dolphin - crazy fish. Good luck with this new found obsession called muskie fishing! I've seen it posted before that it would be cheaper to just take up drugs!! Haha.
ThunderLund78
AWESOME.I'm just about to the point you are. I haven't gone out to specifically target them but I'm trying to plan an outing and invest in some proper equipment to do so. I've only hooked one by accident, which broke my line after I got a brief look at it--and that was enough to get me to drinking the kool-aid.Question, for someone who's never held a Muskie, what's wrong with the way you held it? I was always told that if you want to snap a quick picture, make sure you get a good grip on the lower jaw through the gill plate, but be careful to NOT touch the gills and support the body horizontally with the other hand, aft of the body cavity. I've held big pike in this manner and have always had healthy, quick releases. Would like to know if I'm doing something wrong before I get in this situation.
