Awesome! I have set to see a flying squirrel in MN, but this gives me hope to keep my eyes out.

They are one of my most favorite North American mammals. *jealous*

I caught one of these guys in a live trap once by International Falls. When I let it out it climbed about 10 ft up a tree and glided to higher spot... Sat there for a few minutes then glided away! Only one I have ever seen and it happened to go into my live trap to eat some peanut butter and crackers haha

My uncle was cleaning out one of his bluebird houses a couple years ago, as he opened it up, out came a flying squirrel. Nearly fell off the ladder he was standing on. He now stands on the ground and uses a stick to tap on the side invade anything happens to be living inside.

I had a pair living in an old black walnut tree for a couple weeks at my last house. They were really fun to watch when you could find them.
