1998 Honda Accord

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone-

1998 Honda Accord, 119,000 miles.

Drivers side front wheel well area smells like burnt plastic. Rim, tire and cap are all hot after driving. My guess is a stuck caliper. Any other ideas? Also How can I tell if the caliper is stuck when I get the tire off?

Thanks!!

also could be that brake hose...w/wheel off ground & won't spin, try loosening bleeder screw & if wheel then spins may be a collapsed brake hose.

I've had the what was thought of as a sticking caliper.

Cleaning didn't fix it nor did a replacement.

The hose was the problem.

I've run into several of these most often on Caravans, never yet on a Honda but not impossible.
