Not sure I ever considered weed whacking in flip flops, i certainly won't after this.

I did always question the advice to never mow the lawn barefoot though. I was always skeptical that an 1/8 inch of shoe fabric would provide much protection if you got our foot in the blade. I figured it would just make things harder after the fact since you'd have to figure out what was mangled foot and what was mangled shoe.

Even boots wont help you if you get your foot in the blade.

Nope, had some tall weeds in one small area. I started at the top of the weeds and the line wrapped around the weeds and basically twisted until it shot out like a slingshot. Since I had it up about one foot of the ground, it left my feet exposed.
