I too know of no HSOforum that has that information.. As far as I know there are only a hand full of states that have closed season, all along the Canada border. Im sure some states have a closed season for trout or such though.. then again, maybe not.

With 140+ views; if 1/2 of the views would pick a separate state and search the Internet we would all have are answer.

WOW could be a new fishing book which would include:

1. Opening dates

2. Boating regulations (AIS decals / drain plugs)

3. Etc.

Here are the links to the general fishing page (or whatever I could find that was similar) for all 50 states. Some states are as strict as MN, most are more lenient and allow fishing year round, and most pay far less in user fees than we do to fish. That said, for my buck, I'll take our state and the excellent fishing here to be a sign that our conservation is working. And you're welcome...this took a long time smile

Most states don't have 4.7 BILLION dollar fishing industry with 40,000 connected jobs that they need to manage.

Very good point to take into consideration. Comparing a state with 10,000 lakes to a state with <100 lakes is comparing apples to oranges. Funny and ironic how people still like to make the comparisons tho.

The MN page(s) in this book will have to be hot-swappable since the regs change on almost a daily basis depending on which way the wind is blowing. smirk
