Evening Hunt

Do you guys hunt turkeys in the evening or is it mainly during the morning hours?

All day long! I shot my NE bird at 6:45pm this year. My best luck is usually late-morning through early afternoon, especailly when the hens are on the nest. If you've got the patience to sit all day, you'll have a great shot at filling a tag.

Actually if I have the time I'll hunt all day. Hellof a bunch of birds have been shot mid-day. In the evenings, it's usually best to hunt near roost areas.

I've shot a few in the evening. Hunting areas near roosting areas can be effective. Feeding and strutting areas close to roosting areas can pay off too.

most birds are taken late morning or afternoon. Do not give up after the morning hunt. Birds do get taken in the morning but the % is less then later in the day.

I'll hunt all day if I can but I agree with the late morning-midday. It seems about 900 til maybe about 1 is usually a good time for me. This is only my 4th year hunting them but my first bird was shot at 9:30ish, last year was 11:53 AM and this morning my missed opportunity on one was from about 10-10:45 AM.
