What line to use?

So just picked up my new rod and reel from the sports show, I am only going to be using this rod as a lindy / live bait set up. My questions to you guys is what type of line should I rig it up with. Here are the options that I have right now, out of these four what wouls be the best fit? I fish Mille Lacs allot and other deep water structure in the other lakes that I fish. Here are the 4 options that I am working with...A) Nano-fill in 10#, B) Berkly 100% Flurocarbon in 10#, C) Suffix 832 Ghost in 10#, and finally D) Suffix elite clear mono in 10#....what are your guys thoughts....Thanks

For my rigging set up (a low-profile baitcaster reel), I generally go with the braided line...the Suffix 832 is a fine choice there. For jigging, with a spinning reel, I have tried different lines but have tended to gravitate back to Trilene XL in 8 or 10 pound. But I did spool one up with some 8-pound Nanofil this year, so I will see how I like that.

Suffix 832 Ghost or Nano-fill.

With the way 100% Fluorocarbon sinks it would just be more weight on the end of your rod plus all slack line would be under water. With the way mono takes on water you will lose a lot of feel and you will need bigger and bigger hook sets.

Nano-fill is great for casting with a spinning reel and slip bobber fishing (if you can keep you bobber stop and split-shot from sliding on the line) because the process of making it gets rid of all the fuzzes in the line. At a cost$$$.

I fish almost exclusively Mille Lacs and I use 6lb fireline to swivel then make my own snells also with 6lb floro. Works great for me, and I like the feel.

Is this a spinning or casting combo? If it's a spinning reel I would avoid the Berkly 100% Flurocarbon in 10#. I tried this and found it too stiff to stay on the spool and had lots of tangles. I now use what I have left for leader material and it works great for that.

I have just used braid for no-stretch applications w/ a swivel to mono or fluro leader with better results.

I haven't tried the Nano-fill yet, but I have read good reports. Only downside I see is price.

Good luck and have fun.

Flurocarbon in 10# I guess. I'm assuming since your lindy rigging that you'll have a leader line of Fluro of much less # right? If so, I like fluro on most my rods for it's sensitivity and vanishing features but I go no more then 8#'s to my lindy leader then it's 4-6 #'s from there on.

I'm not an expert on rigging, but when I do, I like the mix of thin braid with a thin leader. The feel is better, no doubt, but I've also done it for years with straight ol' 8 lb. or 6 lb. Berkley XL, and I don't know if my catch rate is all that different either way.

How do you keep your bobberstop from slipping on Nanofil or other super line? I don't do a lot of slp bobbering, but when I do the superlines give me trouble with holding the slip knot in place. Thanks

Maybe it is just me but I just run 6lb. mono and can catch big fish on it. When you get into heavier lines I think you loose some sentivity. So 6lb mono is the only line I use for lindy's as well as jigging when I go up north to birch.
