Ice_Fishin07
My 07 Polaris sportsman EFI was running perfect, then on a ice fishing trip it started bogging down and dying on me. I thought I had bad gas which I had just put in it. Then I replaced the gas with non-oxy gas. It ran fine after then on another ice fishing trip. Last week when I fired it up to take kids on little ride, it did not even make one block on the street. It started dying and back firing. I check spark plug the gap was too wide and re-gaped it and it runs little better now but idle is messed up it won't stay running unless I throttle it. How do I adjust the idle on it? Thanks! rundrave
did you completely swap the plug? If you didnt you may have fouled the plug. I would swap in an entirely new plug. Also have you tried adjusting the slack in throttle cable? There is a ETC (electronic throttle control) switch on the handlebars that has some metal contacts in there that if there is too much slack they touch and it will kill the machine. If you follow the throttle cable from the throttle there will be a short section in the cable with a rubber boot on it. You can slide or roll back that rubber boot and adjust the cable from there. aczr2k
You might have a bad wire in the TPS (throttle position sensor) wire harness, it is fairly common and the dealer has a repair kit. The wires like to break off at the connector, the insulation might look good but the wire breaks off inside.
