zepman
Trade him NOW for something (middle linebacker) or draft pick(s)! Get a 2nd, a 3rd or whatever you can for him...some team on the verge will overpay for his services. He has been overrated for the last 2 years...injuries included. Time to dump him when the getting MAY be good. Next year will be too late.Get a pick(s)...get something younger for him now while we can. The most over-payed player on the Vikes right now is Kevin Williams!!
FISHINGURU
I thought he's been overrated his whole career personally. He's decent but he is overpaid. After he had to quit taking roids he went downhill in a hurry lol, at the end of last season he finally started coming around a bit, but he's far from a superstar, last time he could of even been mentioned as a great player would of been 04/05. MUSKY18
Hes not worth that much in trade anymore. Maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick at the best and with his salary, it would be hard to get rid of him. I still think he is solid, but when the only other person on the D Line that even has his name called during a game being Allen, they can double him up on the inside. Perhaps of Robison was able to make a tackle or create pressure it would help a bit.
BuckSutherland
They should get rid of Jared Allen too.
FISHINGURU
Jared is probably thinking the same thing at this point.
BuckSutherland
At least they might be able to get something for him while he has something left in the tank. As much as the fans might like him they will never get to see him hoist a trophey as a Queen. I am for a total house cleaning. They need to get younger in a bad way. If I were Allen I would want to get traded and go someplace that I actually have a chance to win a title in the next five years.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
Next 5 years?? how long do you think it takes to rebuild in the NFL? They are no more 5 year rebuild jobs! If it takes you 5 years (and we've been terrible for 2 already) then you need a new GM and coaching staff!
BuckSutherland
Duh!! We are stuck with these puke stains for at least this year and probably next. Then after we fire them it is going to take someone with a brain (although in 40+ years we havent found them) another two-three years to build it up. So yes it is going to take 5 years. The idiots we have now are clueless rubes. They have been trying to go with the big free agent acquistions for how many years and it has NEVER worked. Real teams (see Packers and Steelers) understand that you build a franchise through the draft and player development. You dont go out and try to buy championships like we have done in the past. Look how well that is working for Snyder in Washington. Everything starts with offensive and defensive line. If you are winning in the trenches you can help give your less effective players more help. Getting pressure with four instead of six, and having guys that can actually move to pick up blitzes etc. And one player such as Allen cant do it by himself. They need to unload all of these heavy contracts and do whatever they can to get much younger.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
Well then you must be happy with this years pathetic free agency class! I think spielman is trying to build a basketball team rather then a football team
zepman
Wether you like it or not, Spielman is doing the right thing this year.5 years may be a stretch if Ponder can prove he's the guy. A decade may be too short if he's not. Chilly was the one got us in this mess. I don't think Spielman had much "power" in his little corner of the triangle. YiGGiN4SLoBS
We'll see... IMO its never a bad idea to add talent to your team weather your ready to compete or not. And we sure havent done any of that

I think spielman is trying to build a basketball team rather then a football team There are alot of young football players on this team who didn't see any playing time last year. Love, Burton, Fusco, to name a few. IMO, Spielman wants to find out what he's got with these younger guys before he spends his $$$ on someone else.
