Beretta A400 or the SuperVinci

Recommended Posts

Cbrooks - I have a SB 2 and Vinci (not the 3 1/2 inch). Both guns are great. 3 weeks ago I purchased the Beretta A 400.

The Beretta A 400 is an awesome shotgun. It fits great and the recoil is actually less than the SB 2 and Vinci. It will be my go to shotgun for waterfowl. The SB 2 will be my back up waterfowl gun and #1 pheasant gun. The Vinci will Vinci will probably go to my son.

What I would recommend is try shooting the shotguns prior to purchasing them...if possible. You want to ensure the gun points well and fits you. Best of luck

CBrooks...the Benelli SB2 and Vinci are great shotguns - I love them both. The Beretta A 400 is just a step up over both of them. I like them all.

For hunting and shooting birds/waterfowl, I am going to use my Beretta A400 this year. The Vinci and SB2 from Benelli worked great in the field for me over the years. IMO, the Beretta A 400 is an absolute awesome gun. I'm really looking forward to this years' waterfowl season.

You have to get a shotgun that fits you best and your most comfortable shooting. As an example - I have a Browning Citori. Its an awesome shotgun too. I shoot it for trap and it shoots great. However, it does not fit me like my other shotguns when I am hunting and as such, it is left in the safe a lot of the time.

Best of luck.

cbrooks- After owning a couple of gas driven shotguns and now going to an interia driven gun, I can tell you that I will ALWAYS stick with the Benelli family. My suggestion is re-think a 3.5 inch chambered gun. I'm now in line for buying the Vinci 3 inch. It's a lot lighter and to be honest that's all you need...unless you hunt snows, late season honkers, or pass shoot (mad). I have a laundry list of why interia driven guns are better but the biggest reason is dependability..Thats just my 2 cents!

Do MN opener with a retired Federal employee who is doing some work with Benelli putting on shooting expos. Not sure if they have the entire family group of guns at the events or just the Benellis. His comment was that it was very noticeable how shooters were picking up the Super Vinci and doing very well with it. Need to get in sometime and see how well this gun breaks down in case field cleaning is needed. SBE pretty tough to compete with in that aspect.

I would love to hear your laundry list of items that makes inertia better than gas.

and please explain your statement about dependability. what exactly makes it more dependable?

Just looking for an in-depth analysis of this.

Thanks!

I'll help Otterwild out a little...

If you enjoy cleaning off the deposits left behind by gas operated guns, buy the gas gun. If you don't like to take your gun apart and wipe off the residue after each outing, buy the inertia gun.

The benefit of gas is less felt recoil than inertia. I have had both gas and inertia guns and have no problem recommending a Benelli over any gas gun.
