Paint cans, what's the trick?

All my kiddos have moved out and are on their own. smile

Since people were jet ski-ing in January and trucks, wheelers, and people have been swimming here all winter, the wife and I are working on remodeling the 3 kiddo bedrooms.

Every time I pour paint (I HATE painting) into the roller pan, a ton of it runs down the side of the can and the cans lip fills up and the stuff gets everywhere. So, what's the trick to pouring this stuff out of a can without half a gallon going down the side and filling the lip up?

Grampa always took the screwdriver and punched a hole or two through the bottom of the lip where the paint always pools up, that way the paint has a chance to drain back into the can. also always had a brush handy to wipe the paint off the can after pouring. I havn't found any way around getting paint on the can, besides making someone else paint wink

They're lucky they're all gone, either at Vo-Tech or hundreds of miles away.

Apparently my 2 boys had some kind of ninja throwing stars/knives and covered up the damage with posters. I'm not going to mention over the world wide interweb what I found in a crawl space.....but it was funny.
