fishermann222
I was wondering if anyone has a rough estimate on a 47 inch pike out of rainy lake. I did not get a girth as I tried to get her back as soon as possible. but she dwarfed my two on the wall that are 22 and 23 pounds. anyone have any ideas? any help is appreciated. Mightymuskie
Well there are lots of good formulas, but they usually require the girth. Both myself and one of my fishing partners caught 47 inch muskies on the Ottawa River-mine weighed 24 1/2 lbs while his was just under 30lbs. I would guess your pike was some where in that range. Congratulations on a fine catch!!
Guest
We had one last year that was 46" and just over 26 lbs. That was a pretty fat fish.. Depends a lot on girth, but I'd guess it would be in the 27 lb. range.Nice fish by the way![This message has been edited by fishnAddict (edited 06-23-2003).]

Zarkohl
I have a replica of a 47" pike on the wall. The weight was est. at 28 lbs. based on the length and girth. It was all of that, it was a pig.

Guest
You may want to take a look at Lax taxidermy in Wi. They do as good a job as I've seen in musky and pike reproductions. They did a musky for me last year.
fishermann222
the taxidermist I have sends his stuff out. so maybe it would be cheaper to get one through them. I will have to look into it.

MT Net
Kind of late here, but I use the DNR formula length x length x length divided by 3500 = weight. Maybe 29.66 pounds.
