BPS Reel Repair

Didn't want to hijack the Shimano reel repair thread, so I was wondering if anyone ever sent anything to Bass Pro for repair? I have a number of (Junior Varsity) reels that could probably be serviced. Some Daiwa baitcasters and Abu Ambassadors. Something I have been wanting to do for years and keep blowing it off until Spring...then it is too late.

I was wondering how their service was, turnaround time, price, etc.

Where is the Shimano reel repair thread? I have 4 Symetre's to send in. Where in MN is there a good reel doctor?

I sent my bps reels in for repair/cleaning each year with no issues. They called you if there were repairs needed and told you if it's under warrranty. If not under warranty they told you the price. They did a good job. I didn't pay attention how long it took because I did it during off season. Anglers paradise fixes bps reels now and other store brand reels. All he asks is to bring in the schematics so he has something to reference for parts.

Thanks bucketmouth. I appreciate the info. I need to pack up my stuff and send it. Do you guys insure that stuff when you mail it off? FWIW, the reels I would be sending are old, but still in functional condition, so nothing I would ever throw away/sell/whatever.

Can't remember what ups insures up to before they charge for extra insurance. I was always over that amount so I took out the extra insurance.
