Pickling Fish Other Than Pike?

Recommended Posts

You can pickle just about any fish that swims and I remember grandma trying just about every. Fish grandpa caught bullheads not so good to oily . She even pickled sheephead they were let's put it this way different and I probably wouldnt try the m again ever. Sunnies, crappies and even bass were really good . Sucker was pretty darn tasty also.

If it swims you can pickle it. If I don't have quite enough fish for a meal I'll freeze them for pickling. I've pickled pike, crappies, bluegills, perch, etc. all in the same batch. I also keep suckers in the spring for pickling.
