Lots of people scoff and laugh when they see I purchase bear spray each time when mine expires. In the last three year I have carried bear spray I have encountered 3 bears minimum yearly and this season 100s of tracks.

I have even seen cougar tracks while trout fishing. With the wolves moving in. It will not be long before I see them.

I have encountered many an aggressive rottweiler or hound through the years…..I have even hosed a couple aggressive cows and bulls.

My buddies say that all I will be ultimately is pepper flavored human for that bear. I am willing to risk it because the alternative is forever.

Never a dumb idea to carry bear spray. Is the precaution taken to risk ratio high? Incredibly, but only because the risk in terms of likelihood is very very low. But it's still not a dumb idea.

I've carried bear spray, but only when I'm walking in areas where I'm likely to see an alaskan brown, or come across their tracks.

Why not get a permit and carry a pistol? Just saying if i was between mom and cubs i wouldnt want bear spray

thought about that. 26 years in law enforcement and 4 years working for probation and parole I just don't feel the need to carry a gun anymore.

I got rid of all my pistols after retired.

My luck I would fall in with the gun and get it wet....I sweat so much when fishing...gun just doesn't do it for me. Pepper spray will have to do.

I thought of getting some in case i ever encounter a bull.. no way im out running one haha.. but part of me thinks since a bull kinda already charges with a blind rage.. that bear spray would just tick him off even more

Lmao, I needed a change of shorts the last time I was charged by a bull. The ONLY thing I was thinking of was to run. And I think you're right about it just ticking the bull off more. That's just not something I'd be willing to risk.

I fear bulls more than criminals. Criminals are dumb and generally commit crimes out of desperation. Bulls are mean, and want to kill me for no reason at all. J/k... Sorta. But seriously, i hate those things.

bullsh*t... jk.. really just wanted to use the word in context with talking about bulls
