Portable Buddy Hose for Heater Cooker Unit?

buzbunni

Question

I have a Portable Buddy Heater with a 5' hose that I attach to a 20lb propane tank.

I also own a Mr. Heater Cooker. I have only used the 1 pound tanks on this unit.

The Question:

I was wondering if I can use the same 5 foot hose on the Heater Cooker that I use on my Portable Buddy?

If this is possible, I assume that I do not need to use a filter?

Thanks for any advice.

I have run a hose directly from a 20lb tank to my heater/cooker without an additional regulator and have never had any issues. The heat setting control for the heater/cooker acts as your regulator. Also, no filter. Works for me.

Mr. Heater makes a softer more pliable 10' black hose that can be used with the buddy or cooker, try and find one of those. You can coil it up real easily in subzero temps.

I think that may be the low pressure hose?

Pretty sure that can be used on the Heater Cooker or Big Buddy, but I think I need the high pressure hose with filter for the Portable Buddy.

Never-the-less, I may get one of the low pressure hoses for the Heater Cooker.

I use the same 5ft hose on my big buddy and my heater cooker. NO problems for years. They have the same connections. The only complications come in with what they recommend for the Big Buddy. I haven't used a filter. Some people have issues. Some don't.

If what you're using works on the biddy then it will for sure be fine on the H/C.

I made a little bracket and cook over my portable little and/or big buddy. Works slick for canned food. I have little bars with a hook that wedge nicely in the grill of the heater. I could take pictures and send if anyone is interested. I'm all about bringing as little as possible in my portable.
