Idaho isn't exactly a destination for Specks hunting, but after a couple years of figuring them out we had a little success on the last day of our season. Thanks to IDF&G for pushing the closing date out another week!!

Those are awesome. Pretty rare bird in the areas of Nodak I hunt, but you do see them on occasion, and especially in the spring during the snow goose conservation hunt. Gotta be extra careful that "blue" you're shooting at isn't actually a speck in disguise...

Highlight of my season was having a flock of 12 work us in NoDak, but some things beyond my control caused them to flare just out of reasonable range. I imagine if I would have shot one, I might have almost teared up (almost).

Really cool, I had 1 Minnesota chance 5 years ago and blew it, just after shooting light, couldn't identify the 3 pack in time. Idaho specks, don't hear that everyday, nicely done!
