The Ice fishing tackel box.

Well I finnally cleaned the thing after 5 years of ice fishing. Threw away a bunch of rusty old hooks, replaced some hooks that were getting thin on lures, & cleaned the boxes.

Now, my question is what's wrong with the lindy glow lures and most lindy lures. After about a year they become gross and crappy looking, & I ended up throwing away just about every lindy lure I had which was quite a few. Don't think I'll be getting anymore of those lures.

Anyone else run into this?

There is something in the glow pigment in the red that basically molds when any moisture penetrates into them. I have noticed it on almost all manufacturers with the glow red. Some that have a thicker/harder clear coat fare much better, but once a little moisture gets in through a crack or chip, it will continue to spread that lovely dirty haze that you are referring to.

For whatever reason, the worst I have seen by far is in the Lindy jigs.

I really like using the neon red glow colors, but they seem to have a shelf life.
