MN Metro Jumbos 1/16/12

I got out the morning of MLK day to a new spot to try for some Jumbo perch. I got into some nice fish with a good average size. They might not be jumbos, like some of the ones, in Mille Lacs but I was thrilled to get into perch this size in the Metro. Especially on a heavily pressured lake. What better way to start the day than with some early morning fishing!

Yeah, they weren't huge by any means. Just a pleasant surprise, biggest was right about 11". Mini-Jumbo's maybe!

Nice. I've caught nice perch out of a few metro lakes, but nothing consistent.

Yeah, that's been my consensus as well. Last year I got into decent perch on Peltier for like an hour but that's about it. So it was a fun change of pace for me. I ran out of minnows this morning, I underestimated the bite.
