I've read most of his books - not the greatest literature ever but worth the read. While most of the books are technically stand alone, they do make more sense if you read them in order. Don't have the order off the top of my head, but if you go to amazon and look up his books it will give you the publication date of each book so you can put them in order. His last book was a flashback to an earlier time for his main character, but again it makes more sense if you read the others first.

I really like Vince's books. His first book is entitled "Term Limits" and is not apart of any series. The books that have followed since Term Limits are based on the character "Mitch Rapp". JDFisherman is right, you do not have to read them in order but if you did it would help in understanding Mitch and his relationships with the other characters, etc. I started with "Extreme Measures" and then went back and started from the beginning of the series. However, Vince's last book "American Assasin" would be an excellant book to start with because it is kind of a flashback of Mitch Rapp's life and how he became who he is. Vince's new book "Kill Shot" will be out Feb. 7th.

If you like the Mitch Rapp series then check out another author by the name of Brad Thor. He has a series of books with a character named "Scott Harvath". His books are a lot like Vince Flynns books.

I have read the first couple, it seems when I try and get into some of the latter ones they all seem the same.....same villains and basically the same plots. I get into the first 100 pages or so and lose interest.

Seems they sell well and a lot of guys like them so give it a whirl.....

I love Flynn books, I did not read them in true order, but really, if you read one book, there will be flashbacks or whatever you call them that lets the reader figure out how Mitch Rapp is connected to the person.

****Spoiler alert: even though its talked about in later books, I did get lost from one book to another when trying to figure out what happened to his gal

Like LIMTOUT said Mitch Rapp is not in Term Limits, even though that is the "first" book by Flynn. Micheal O'Rourke is the main in Term Limits, a congressman from Minnesota and former Marine. Many of the other characters lead into the next books, though, but O'Rourke does not in any large part. The first Rapp Book is Transfer of Power, which I just re-read not long ago. As stated American Assasin (2010) would be the first in Rapp's timeline, but I'd read the others first up to Pursuit of Honor (2009) before getting into that one.

Not the most challenging reads but entertaining none-the-less. I have read them all, and some twice when I needed a jolt of All-American Man Smut. Looking forward to Kill Shot in Feb!

I thought that he was doing better with his battle against cancer but then the news came out this morning that he had died. Dang.

RIP.

He was on Garage Logic sometime in January or February and it sounded like he was doing well. I was shocked when they announced his death on the radio this morning.

A fine author and American patriot.

RIP

I heard an interview fairly recently with Souche and it did sound like he was doing better. Very upbeat and positive, said he felt better than he had in a year or so...felt like I got smacked in the gut when I heard it on the radio this AM...Very sad. RIP.
