Biggerfish
I have a '11 Ranger and put the Eagle "V" plow on it this past winter. It seems to just about bottom the front end out from the plow?I know there are heavy duty spring one can buy, but is there anything one can do without buying new springs.....Still paying this this off!!!!Thanks for any feedback..... eyehunter
Not sure about the Ranger, but I would assume that they have basically the same suspension and shocks as my Sportsman does. On my wheeler you can tighten up the suspension by adjusting the shocks. I'm sure Lepp7mm can explain it in more detail.
Dave S
There should be a collar at the bottom of the spring on each shock. Turning this collar allows you to adjust the preload and will firm up the spring a little. Your tool kit should have included a spanner wrench to turn the collar. You could also upgrade the springs to an aftermarket HD front spring kit to the tune of about $100. They'll firm up the ride during general riding but will give a little more support with the plow mounted up.

You should be able to adjust the collar to stiffen up the front end. I have the Glacier II plow system on mine and I adjusted the collar so I get less front end sag when I lift the plow. Biggerfish
Awesome,Thanks for the help.I will give it a go this weekend.Maybe the snow will come soon and I will get to use the new plow?
K_Josh87
They sell a cheaper versions of the spanner wrenches for about 10 bucks, If its like the one i had, you may need to tap it back into shape every once in a while as it seems to get "stretched" after use, and makes it almost impossible to use, but once you figure that out it works well. NAMASafetyDirector
Polaris used to offer a rubber spacer that would slip in between the coils on the front springs as well in order to increase pre-load on the springs for things like adding plows. You would just jack the front end up and slip the rubber in between the spring. You could check with your dealer and see if they are still available or check the aftermarket. With the spring adjusters on the highest setting they should be sufficient to support a standard glacier type plow.
huntercj
You should also move the top of the shock out there is a second hole just remove the top bolt in the shock and slide shock out to the second hole rebolt it you dont have to do anything with the bottum of the shock . With a heavy plow you should turn your preload up on the bottum of your shock plus move the top of your shock out to the next mounting hole. ON all new rangers with double a arm suspension this adustment can be done on front and on the rear of the machine.
aczr2k
Yep everything thing that was said above but also soak the collar down with wd40 and jack the front up to take the load off the shock, it will turn much easier and not split in half. pikechaser
I bought the HD springs for my 08 ranger of the bay for round 70bucks...well worth it. I gained about 1.75" clearance, have not noticed any changes in quality of ride or handline
ruapache
Try putting some weight (like salt or sand bags) in rear.
riverwader
I know polaris has spring spacers that lift the front up a little to add to the lift of it. I have a 72" eagle v on my RZR and it drops a little but not bottoming out, but I do have aftermarket shocks on the front. search polaris spring spacers, ranger.
