Need help tonight!!!

I am flying to MN Friday and planned an ice fishing weekend with my buddies. I am staying at Mile Lacs and the ice is too thin for a 5 man sleeper.

ANyone know of a place I should try last minute for a permanent overnight rental for 5 for Sat and Sun night this weekend?

Hopefully within 3 hour drive or so from Mpls.

Any lake will do.

I couldnt find anything on Big Sandy with ice house sleepers

Sunset Bay is also on south Winnie so I am assuming the have just as bad of ice as the place I am originally planning to go to but had to cancel due to thin ice

Just go to Lake of the Woods. It'll be worth the drive.

A couple more hours north and you'll find good ice on Upper Red or Lake of the Woods

If you still want to go to Mille Lacs there are several places that have sleepers that size out. I would go to the Mille Lacs lake forum there are posts about the resorts on the south and east. I think you could also find a link for resorts there or else FM-Millelacs's or Appledoorn's are the two I am familiar with.

Can't go wrong with Port-A-Villa on Upper red. Great operation, first class outfitter.

Yes, these guys are that good and the heated onice bathrooms are also very nice.

Nice new lodge at Rogers where you would drive on the ice with nice showers.

I can tell you right now that there is not one open resort or motel room open for this weekend up on LOW. Another member, his two sons and I were trying to find one opening for 4 guys last night and call ever listed resort and motel and not one of them had a opening for this weekend.

Is this true for the Warroad area as well? I know Izzy's and Reel Adventures are putting people out there now, not sure on Springsteel yet though and i know there are open hotel rooms in Warroad.

I know for a fact that Paul at Appeldoorns on Mille Lacs has sleepers out there and it will be cold enough to drive out now in light vehicles
