premium battery worth it?

I need a new battery for my electric auger. FF wants $25 for a 9 amp and others are asking $35 with a claim that it's a premium vs a generic. Anyone have experience and advice on which to go for?

You can get a battery for your unit for as cheap as $10 if you shop around.

I got 4 batteries for $30 last month in the South Metro at a bettery shop. The owner sold me two China ones and two CSM's which he claimed retailed for $45 a pop. They have a little black piece between the two terminals.

I'm on my fifth year with a so called generic battery. I wouldn't pay the extra unless you are getting a gel cell or agm battery for the extra cost. If it is just a sealed lead acid battery your better off with the cheap one.

Keep in mind that you'll need a charger that is made to charge Gel or AGM batteries.

I picked up a 9 amp/hr battery for the Marcum off hsolist for $10 last year and it's been rock solid so far.
